A Cypriot Bishop has expressed his gratitude after being reunited with a missing icon, found hanging on a wall in Boy George's living room. In an interview with BBC Radio 4's PM programme, Bishop Pofyrios said the icon, originally from a church in southern Nicosia, was spotted hanging by the fireplace during a television interview with the singer.
Once Boy George found out the origin of his painting, bought "with good faith" from an art dealer in 1985, he agreed to hand it back to the Cypriot Church. The Bishop said he did not feel he should ask how much money the singer paid for the icon, but Boy George had not asked for any money in return.
